What happened to my videos on Facebook?

Since October 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Facebook has tightened the restrictions on the use of video transmissions that contain music from a third party on its platform.

It does not matter if the music is heard with low volume, it is a short intervention that entered as background noise incidentally, Facebook will remove or ban your content.

The most affected were the DJs and sounders who mixed various songs that did not belong to them to entertain their followers who, especially in times of the pandemic, were locked up looking for some entertainment. Thus, the social network, to avoid copyright problems, implemented new measures regarding the use of music in its live and on-demand broadcasts.

"The use of music for commercial or non-personal purposes in particular is prohibited unless you have obtained the appropriate licenses"is one of the measures that can be read here.

"You may not use video in our products to create a music listening experience. If you use videos in our products to create a music experience for yourself or others, your videos will be blocked and your page, profile or group may be removed. This includes live broadcasts., can be read in another section.

A Facebook spokesperson indicated that these rules are not recent, but date back to 2018. But they have been reinforced with improvements in detection algorithms.
